Guided Tour: On Tour with Rescuer Mees
Rescuer Mees takes the children through the museum. He has all kinds of special items in his yellow oilskin coat that are found in the museum. Together, you will search for these items. Mees explains everything about these unique objects.
During this interactive tour, the class learns to look at the museum in a different way. Children learn all about lifeboats, rescue equipment, and the work of a rescuer in a playful manner. Of course, they also get time to explore the museum on their own.

Scavenger Hunt: Searching with Dorus the Rescue Dog
Children search the museum with Dorus the rescue dog. During this scavenger hunt, they have to answer various questions. They learn all about lifeboat services, past and present. Of course, they also get time to explore the museum on their own.

Photo Scavenger Hunt: The Rescuers
Using photos, search for different spots in the museum. Upon reaching the right spot, perform a task. Learn how to tie real nautical knots, navigate a boat, and work together like real rescuers. This way, children learn all the skills necessary to be a rescuer, such as camaraderie, patience, and perseverance. Of course, they also get time to explore the museum on their own.

Boat Tours in the Inner Harbor
During our sailing season from April to October, students can also take a boat tour through the inner harbor of Den Helder. An amazing experience that makes the school trip extra special.
