Working at the National Rescue Museum

The National Rescue Museum is a wonderful museum located in the heart of Den Helder. We take pride in our large team of volunteers—individuals who have a deep love for the sea and the historical heritage of our naval city. Our team works tirelessly every day to share the story of lifesaving at sea with a wide audience.

Would you like to become a volunteer too?

We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals! We value all talents—from practical skills to boating expertise or a passion for guiding tours. Let us know where your interests lie, and we'll find a way for you to contribute to our museum.

What to expect:

  • Enthusiastic, dedicated, and engaged colleagues
  • A respectful working environment
  • Strong volunteer policies
  • Comprehensive training, including AED and basic first aid
  • Either a volunteer stipend or travel reimbursement
  • Volunteer insurance coverage

If the role you're interested in isn't listed, don't hesitate to inquire about other possibilities. We'd love to hear from you and discuss opportunities to get involved!
