Exciting Virtual Reality Experience

Experience a lifelike rescue mission at sea. In our VR experience, you step aboard the Nh1816, the newest and most modern port rescue boat used by the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution since 2015.

Man overboard: full speed ahead

In the VR experience, you'll feel the rush of a rescue mission and the tension that comes with saving a person overboard. Your pager goes off, man overboard! Quickly make your way to the rescue boat, prepare yourself, and head out to sea! The VR experience vividly portrays the strenuous work of rescuers. It's an unparalleled experience that you can enjoy with friends or family.

Broad support

The VR experience was made possible thanks to the broad support of various funds, businesses, and individuals, including the Wadden Fund, Dorus Rijkers Fund, Mondriaan Fund, Prince Bernhard Culture Fund, Province of North Holland, Nh1816 Charitable Foundations, Doing Business by the Sea Foundation, Royal Peterson, and Rabobank. The KNRM provided their rescue boats for this project.

For the development of the VR experience, the National Rescue Museumcollaborated with Mudware, a firm specializing in museum installations. Roel Ovinge produced the introduction video, and Northseadivers provided the incident ship and the person overboard scenarios.
